Wonderfully Wired

A Neurodivergent Family Support Group

Reframing Neurodiversity

The Sensory Connection

Sensory processing is a normal function that helps us adapt to the environment. “Our bodies and brains use this system to register all the different sensory information in our environment and piece it together to build a complete picture of what is going on around us, with our bodies, within our bodies, in relation to the current environment. Sensory processing shapes our experiences in the world and impacts our feelings” (Star Institute).

Different NOT Disordered

In this 90-minute support group, parents, caregivers, and loved ones of neurodivergent individuals will learn a new and intuitive way of conceptualizing ADHD, autism, and sensory processing disorder. Participants will improve their understanding of neurodiversity-affirming language and the sensory connection to behavior and communication.

This is a safe space to learn, practice, and grow. Participants can expect support and guidance on how to more effectively support neurodiversity within their family systems.
